Public procurement for the Determination and assessment of possible grid connection points, cable routes, as well as network configuration studies for ELWIND

The task involves a high-level assessment of potential grid connection points from both technical and legal perspectives. This assessment will determine possible cable routes and lengths, considering risks and restrictions related to cable placement. The study will evaluate the capacity of the transmission network at connection points and identify viable grid connection points and onshore areas for land-based converter stations early in the planning process to enable efficient cable routing.

The final report of the study shall contain:

  • Preliminary Technology Description: Calculations of the grid system necessary for radial connection, including technology and voltage level options for the onshore transmission network.
  • Cable Route Assessment: Preliminary routing and assessment of cable routes.
  • Required Components: Identification of necessary offshore and onshore components, including reactive power compensation equipment and substations, with calculations.
  • Cable Connection Assessment: Evaluation of cable radial connection routes, technical parameters of the cables, proposed cables from manufacturers and technologies, and scenarios for radial connections with preliminary routing.
  • Mitigating Measures: Proposed measures to mitigate identified risks.

The information from the research will be used in future ELWIND studies.

The submission deadline for the tenders is 22nd of April 2025, 11.00 (EET).
