ELWIND pre-feasibility study final report

For the development of offshore wind parks, a necessary pre-feasibility study was conducted, in which a total of four potential offshore wind park areas were analysed within the wind energy development areas defined by maritime spatial plannings, two of which are located in Estonian marine area and two in Latvian marine area.

For the development of offshore wind parks, a necessary pre-feasibility study was conducted, in which a total of four potential offshore wind park areas were analysed within the wind energy development areas defined by the maritime spatial plannings, two of which are located in Estonian marine area and two in Latvian marine area.

Seventeen evaluated criteria (seabed geology, wind and ice conditions, ship traffic and commercial fishing intensity, and several environmental impact factors including habitats for birds, fish, seals, and bats) were analysed in all pre-selected locations, based on which the most suitable marine areas in Estonian and Latvian waters were found for the joint project.
